Convertibles, Highways And Storm Chasing – More Confirmed Features For Forza Horizon 5 In Latest Dev Stream

Playground Games’ upcoming open-world racer Forza Horizon 5 got a big reveal at the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase last week, but that’s not the end of the info drop.

A new dev stream, appropriately titled “Forza Horizon 5: Let’s ¡Go!” has explained some of the racing game’s new feature a bit more, as well as confirmed a few new details that was not seen in the reveal trailer and gameplay demo trailer.

Here’s a summary of details:

Forza Linc: This new system has an AI group up like-minded players to do events together, even if they are not friends. Example being given is Forza Linc pairing two players who have done a lot of the Trials event in the past, but haven’t done the current week’s event.

Horizon Arcade: A new co-op public event system (likely replacing Forzathon Live) featuring mini-games including smashing a ton of pinatas, and mini-misisons where you have to simple objectives together like “jump over a car”.

Eventlab: An improved custom event-maker (like Forza Super7) where you can place various objects and create different kinds of events (not necessarily races). Example in the reveal trailer shows an event where you need to smash bowling pins for points- each conferring 5,000 points.

Smaller confirmed details:

  • Convertible cars are in Forza Horizon 5. Clicking one of the analog stick can bring up/bring down the top (you can see it in the gameplay demo trailer)
  • Guanajuato City is featured in Forza Horizon 5
  • Drag races will be included

  • Main Horizon Festival location is built next to an old race track and also near an old airstrip
