Co-Op Puzzler Escape Simulator Celebrates 1 Million Players Milestone With New Level, Discount

Pine Studio has announced that their co-op puzzle game Escape Simulator has sold more than 1 million copies since its release last October.

To celebrate the occasion, a new free escape room (level) has been released, inspired by the dev’s earlier game, Cats In Time. Which also happens to be a puzzle game.

This will arrive in an update, which also will be bringing in improvements to the room editor. Escape Simulator lets players design their own escape room puzzles, and the community has produced more than 2,500 rooms to date.

Tomislav Podhraški, CTO and Co-owner, has this to say on Escape Room’s phenomenal sales milestone:

“We’d like to thank every single one of you for joining us on this journey! When we started, we placed bets with each other on how many units we’d sell, and needless to say those expectations have been exceeded by more than we could have ever hoped for.

With all your support we can keep expanding Escape Simulator and we already have many plans to do so, starting with more free rooms and updates to the room editor. And later this summer, we’ll reveal some exciting new DLCs that we’re currently working on… So stay tuned for more news!”

Escape Simulator tasks players, either solo or with a partner via online co-op, to find a way to escape from their current room. The puzzles require players to interact with the many objects that can be found in the many themed rooms.

The game is out now on PC via Steam, and is currently 20% off to celebrate the sales milestone.
