Clanfolk Revamps Hunting Mechanic In Latest Free Update

The highlands of colony builder game Clanfolk is getting a bit wild in the latest free update, which goes live today. The “Hunters & Hunted” update, the 10th major update since its Early Access launch, updates the ability for you to hunt for food.

With the new update, hunters can bring deerhound pets (dogs) to assist them in finding game. The sneaking and stealth aspects have been improved. Deer herds move around the map now based on the time of day, and they migrate in and out of the map depending on what season it is and how big the herd is- if their numbers dwindle too low they’ll be out of the map zone.

Wolves are now a thing with this new Clanfolk update. They are there mostly to compete with the clanfolk in hunting game- wolves only attack humans if they are desperate or wounded. Deerhounds can defend the homestead from wolves and foxes.

Developed by MinMax Games and published by Hooded Horse, Clanfolk tasks you with building the home of the merry folks banded under a clan living in the highlands. RimWorld but Scottish-inspired, if you will.

However, Clanfolk is designed to be a peaceful colony builder- so don’t expect to be warmongering. Rather, it’s a game about building families and leaving a legacy for generations to come.

Clanfolk is out now on Steam Early Access.
