The sequel to the cult hit RPG with a double colon and a dash in its name finally got revealed last week at GDC. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is being developed by new studio Hardsuit Labs under the Paradox Interactive, now the owners of the IP.
The writing team behind this looks stacked with talent. The lead writer Brian Mitsoda returns from the previous game. Journalist-turned games writer Cara Ellison is also onboard the writing team.
But after the reveal event, there’s also another prominent staff on the team: Chris Avellone.

The writer has been cropping up on so many games now that he is freelancing, from the indie-hit Into The Breach to the open-world zombie game Dying Light 2 as Narrative Director. And it looks like he is also contributing to Bloodlines 2 in some capacity.
How much is Avellone’s contribution is not known yet, but these are good names to have when you are selling an RPG with a compelling story, which Bloodlines 2 has the potential to fulfill.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be out in Q1 of 2020 for the PS4, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Paradox Store) and Xbox One. It’s already available on pre-orders on some stores like Steam, which is selling for a surprisingly cheap RM95 in Malaysia.
