First-person (with optional third-person camera mode) melee brawler Chivalry 2 has just launched, and developers Torn Banner Studios is committing to the game for the long term with the promise of post-launch free updates.
A new trailer, shown at the 2021 PC Gaming Show shows a snippet of the first post-launch Team Objective map, Galencourt where the Mason Order has to storm the lavish noble town the Agathians are living in.
Chivalry 2 will also be adding new weapons and a new fighting style, including horse combat.
“Chivalry 2 at launch is a foundation. It’s intentionally built to be extended,” says Torn Banner Studios CEO & Creative Director Steve Piggott. “Post-launch content is something we’re going to be working on for a long time. The game is going to at least double in size for free.”
Currently, at launch, Chivalry 2 has 8 maps- 3 for Team Deathmatch/Free For All Deathmatch modes and 5 being the set-piece-centred Team Objective maps.
16 maps would give the 64-player medieval warfare game even more variety, and good to know that these will be free additions.
Chivalry 2 is out now for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
