Chivalry 2 New Update Adds Brawl Mode, Halloween Seasonal Event And Headbutting

Medieval combat game Chivalry 2 is getting a free update today. The big new feature for the Fight Knight update is a new game mode: Brawl.

You know all the weird objects that are not weapons that you can pick up and smack people for barely any damage but still a fun silly thing to do? Now you have a reason to grab objects in Brawl mode. No weapons, items on, and two sets of new maps to fight in (The Great Hall, Rudhelm Feast).

And it’s not a small pub fight either. Brawl mode goes up to 40 players. Grab a chair, or a giant fish, and smack them dead.

There’s also another, fan-requested mode: Last Team Standing. As the name implies, it’s a 40-player battle with no respawns. Last team/person standing wins.

Alongside the modes (and two maps), Chivalry 2 adds a new weapon: the rapier. Like any new weapon, this introduces a new way of combat that you can learn to make use (and have to learn to defend yourself against it).

Also, should you suffer a flesh would (i.e. loss of both limbs), you can now headbutt people. Stand your ground until the last breath.

From October 26 to November 7, Chivalry 2 will host its first seasonal event. New cosmetics, decorations and objects to pick will be featured in the following maps:

  • Rudhelm Siege
  • Dark Forest
  • Great Hall (Brawl Mode)
  • Wardenglade (Free-For-All, Last Team Standing)

Finally, there are now improvements to the Arena, including an offline practice mode, as well as new cosmetics.

Chivalry 2 can be gruesome and utterly silly at the same time, and is one of the most fun multiplayer experiences for veterans of the realistic medieval combat genre and newcomers alike. You can find our review here.

Chivalry 2 is out now for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
