CD Projekt Red Shares Roadmap Of Cyberpunk 2077 Patches, Free DLCs and Next-Gen Upgrade

At this point, everyone knows of 2020’s most-anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 has panned out. It’s good on PC (outside of the amazingly crafted aesthetic and world-building- maybe just an okay-to-mediocre open-world game) and have way too many issues on consoles (so much that Sony delisted the game from the PlayStation Store).

Developers CD Projekt Red has now published a video by CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwiński re-affirming their “commitment to quality”, as well as addressing some issues leading up to launch.

The answers feel more like damage control, and honestly don’t feel satisfying in any way. But now at least there’s an official stance for the questions.

On a more positive note, there is now a roadmap of new patches, free DLCs and the promised free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The first of said updates (the two patches promised at the end of last year) will drop in 10 days time. The update after that will be a more substantial one.

The updates and fixes will be for both consoles and PC versions.

As for the teased free DLCs (something they’ve traditionally done before with The Witcher 3), that will arrive after the important fixes and updates are done.

The free next-gen upgrade is expected to arrive in the second half of this year, so expect it to drop in July or later.

The developers assured that the team are not doing any obligatory overtime. “Avoiding crunch on all of our future projects is one of our top priorities,” they said. But we’ll see if they keep their word this time.

Finally, there are still plans to re-list Cyberpunk 2077 back on PlayStation Store, and refunds are still available with the first wave already had been reimbursed.

Maybe in 2022, Cyberpunk 2077 will be the game everyone was excited for when we all saw the first gameplay reveal in 2018.
