Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin is the sequel to the Nintendo 3DS spin-off game. It’s Monster Hunter but as a turn-based JRPG where you collect monsters to be your monstie and fight together in battles.
Capcom has revealed that there are plans to update the game further post-launch, with five free updates until October.
The updates will include the addition of new monsters to hunt in the online co-op quests as well as the addition of new monsties that MonHun fans will definitely recognise.

Here’s the planned roadmap of Monster Hunter Stories 2, with the target release window for each free update
Free Update #1, July 15

Free Update #2, August 5
- Co-Op Quest exclusive monster: Kulve Taroth (won’t be a monstie, but drops special materials for making powerful equipment)

- New Monstie: Boltreaver Astalos
Free Update #3, Early September
- New Monstie: Soulseer Mizutsune
- New Monstie: Elderfrost Gammoth
- New Monstie: Oroshi Kirin
Free Update #4, Late September

The roadmap is subject to change, there will still be chances of the updates getting delayed.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 still has its demo version available on Nintendo Switch, should you want to get a taste of the game before release, with progress carrying over to the main game. The game will launch on July 9 for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
