Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition Coming To PS4 And Xbox One With Tons Of Enhancements

Ain't No Rest For The Wicked

Gearbox announced a bunch of new Borderlands stuff, including Borderlands 3, at PAX East 2019. Among them is the release of Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition on PS4 and Xbox One.

This is not just a simple remaster as some enhancements have been added to the original looter-shooter. You can have a mini-map on, a feature introduced in Borderlands 2. Instead of the simple recolours, each of the four vault hunters you play as can now equip different skins and heads.  Ammo and health are automatically picked up.

Heck, they even reworked the final boss fight, which was hilariously and anti-climatically easy, to be a proper boss fight now

Also, there is 4-player split-screen co-op and 4K textures for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X users.

Shift codes support has also been added, which the Borderlands twitter account regularly hands over so you can claim gold keys to open a special chest which spawns rare weapons and gear.

Players who played Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel gets 75 Shift keys and two new random weapons.

All 4 DLCs will be included.

Borderlands Game Of The Year edition will be out on April 3rd for PS4 and Xbox One. For PC players, which this has been available on Steam before, all the new features will be a free update.

UPDATE: As PC Gamer reported, even if you only have the base game, you’ll get it for free, with all the DLCs on top.
