Borderlands 2 VR Announced For The PS VR, Coming Out This December

This is unexpected. Gearbox Software announced a new VR version of Borderlands 2. It’s the full game played entirely in VR. From driving Technical Bandits to shooting one of the many procedurally generated guns, it’s all here with some additions and caveats.

One new edition is a new bullet-time power, called the BAMF (BadAss Mega Fun) Time. BAMF Time will slow down the world but not you to get a critical hit or just styling on the many enemies. You can use BAMF Time as any of the playable Vault Hunters.

The caveat here is twofold. One is that Borderlands 2 VR is a single-player game, so co-op focused skills like the ones found in Maya The Siren has been tweaked. Also, a few other skills across the four main Vault Hunters are tweaked to accommodate BAMF Time.

The other caveat is its possibly just the base game. Borderlands 2 had four major DLC expansions, four smaller events and two Vault Hunters, which might not be making a return for this VR experience.

In any case, if you need a reason to put on the VR headset again, Borderlands 2 VR will be out on December 14th.
