Black Desert SEA, Pearl Abyss’ long-running MMO has released a new update, which adds content big enough for the devs to dub it as an expansion.
The Mountain Of Eternal Winter expansion adds not only a new region, the titular Mountain Of Eternal Winter, and also a new player hub in the for of Eilton.
Players can explore the snowy regions straight away with a new level 1 character. This is the first time Black Desert has added a new player starting zone since launch, and features cutscenes with voice acting in multiple languages.
The new starting zone is designed for newcomers to the game who might feel overwhelmed when starting a new MMORPG with years of updates and content additions.
Alongside the new player onboarding experience, the new expansion adds new questlines, new life skills in the form of Ice Fishing and Snowboarding, new Hunting Grounds (Murrowak’s Labyrinth, Winter Tree Fossil and Starlight Jade Forest) and new boss Erebjork.
Plus, Shai class players get access to an alpaca as a new exclusive mount.
Black Desert is also adding a new class, the Drakania. This female class fights with a two-handed greatsword, Slayer and uses a Shard as her sub-weapon that can be detached to absorb energy from enemies.
Black Desert SEA is also currently free to grab on Steam and on the official site until April 14.
