Indie developer Broken Spear has launched its debut game, Beneath Oresa, in Early Access.
It’s a roguelike deckbuilding game- a game genre blend that’s getting crowded these days. But its presentation- where you see 3D characters fight during the combat- should catch your attention.
But it’s not just good looks that Beneath Oresa has. What lies beneath Beneath Oresa’s Mobius-inspired art style is some interesting gameplay mechanics.
For one, there’s a companion system. You pick a hero from the pool (the Early Access release has three- all heralding from the same faction), and then pick a Companion from that same pool.
Each of the factions also has a different set of card pools. And cards can be upgraded- each time you will be offered two, the two accommodating different playstyles and builds.
Beneath Oresa will continue to get updates and additional faction card pools during Early Access, with the expected full launch to arrive in May 2023.
