Who would win, a kaiju-like being frrom another dimension or a young punchgirl with a mask that can jump, fly, kick and punch? Whatever the answer may be, it should make for good content in the world of Mightreya.
Mightreya is an indie game developed by Japan-based developers Wazen. Players take on the role of Reya, a school girl and also a superhero. Together with her manager Nio, they are Hero Content Creators, fighting monsters with the style of a high-action anime.
And it is very much full-on anime in its presentation. The new trailer starts with a transformation sequence. And throughout the action, it’s accompanied with a rousing anthemic blend of rocking guitar riffs and soaring violins befitting of the climactic battles our hero will be facing.
And the fights see Reya able to do multiple mid-air jumps, juggle enemies in a flurry of combos and camera angles that really sell that this content is for you anime fans. And even to character action fans as well.
Mightreya will now be published by 505 Games. Between this and the recently delayed Nivalis, the publisher has some potentially good games coming out next year.
Expect Mightreya to be out on PC sometime in 2025 on PC (Steam).
