Wait, what. Out of nowhere, Xbox revealed that the new Battletoads game now has a release date. And it’s real soon.
Battletoads was an arcade game Rare made, known for its rad trio of toads and sick difficulty. Now, that 90’s beat-em-up is back in slick Saturday Cartoon hand-drawn aesthetic.
The new Battletoads is developed by Dlala Studio, supported by Rare. The games supports 3-player, drop-in drop-out couch co-op. Unlike the original, expect to be hopping genres- from 2D platforming sequences to puzzle sections.
Battletoads will be released on August 20 for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and Xbox One. Like all first-party games from Xbox, it’s also available on Xbox Game Pass.
