Battlefield 6 Smashes Into October Release, Early Access Beta Starts Next Week

EA and Battlefield Studios have finally showcased gameplay for their highly anticipated first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, which will, perhaps, bring back the series to the forefront after the lacklustre release of Battlefield 2042.

Set in the near future of 2027, Battlefield 6 features “All-out war, fast-paced close-quarters combat, and tactical destruction” as the remaining members of NATO confront Pax Armata, a private military company that pursues the destruction of them and their allies. This is part of their campaign made by Criterion and EA Motive, as that aspect makes a return after its absence within the previous iteration.

This also bleeds through their multiplayer aspect as well, with the fights now between NATO and PAX in the modes that made Battlefield: Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush. This also marks the return of the Class system, as the class of Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon make their beloved reentry, with some tweaks like players being able to either use the signature weapons for each class (like previous BF games) or use their own (like in 2042), which is a welcome addition for personalization.

Speaking of Multiplayer, you could try out the game next weekend as the Open Beta is scheduled to start on Early Access during 7th and 8th August for those who have gotten keys during the Multiplayer Showcase or have been part of the Battlefield Labs initiative, and then it opens up to all payers on the 9th and 10th for Weekend 1, and 14th till 17th August for Weekend 2.

Battlefield 6 is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S | X and PC on October 10.
