Asus ROG Partnering with Ikea To Make Gaming Furniture

If gaming chairs are not enough, it looks like Asus ROG is going one-step above the competition with plans to make gaming furniture. ROG has partnered with Swedish home-furnishing giant Ikea to develop all-new “gaming-furniture solutions designed to level up gaming experiences in the home”.

The two parties have been collaborating through workshops, discussions via virtual meeting. We will see the result of this collaboration in February 2021 when it releases first in China, before being rolled out to the rest of the world by October 2021.

“Our new partnership with the experts at Ikea will allow ROG to find new and interesting ways to delight gamers in and around the home,” says Kris Huang, General Manager of the Asus Gaming Gear and Accessory
Business Unit.

“By teaming up with ROG, Ikea wants to combine home furnishing knowledge with ROG’s expertise in creating exceptional gaming experiences,” says Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace at Ikea.

“Together, we set out to help the many gamers, and their families, welcome gaming home through developing a new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories, designed to increase performance while also blending in beautifully to homes.”

ROG has dabbled with being a lifestyle brand rather than limiting it to its premium range of gaming laptops and accessories with a clothing line. It’s interesting to see that ROG doesn’t just want to make a gaming chair, but to have gaming-oriented furniture for the whole household.

As long as it’s not just desks with too much RGB lighting, this might lead to something exciting.
