Assetto Corsa Competizione Update Adds Custom Livery Editor, HDR, And More Sim-Related Improvements

weird (chassis) flex, but ok

Assetto Corsa Competizione has been updated to version 1.2. While it’s not heavy on the content, sim racers should be welcoming these updates with open arms.

The big cool feature is the introduction of a custom livery editor. From the trailer, it doesn’t seem as robust as other editors in racing games, but if you don’t want to design from scratch but modify from a set of templates, it’s okay.

HDR is also added, should you have a display that can handle that.

The meat and potatoes of the update are the improvements to the simulation aspect of the game. Cars have chassis flex modeled now, so you can see the body rolls a bit to the side when taking huge curbs on cars with soft suspension setups.

Brake wear is now modeled, so in long endurance races, you will feel the reduction of brake power- so managing your ride to be as smooth as possible to increase its longevity is crucial. The tyre model gets a bit improved too- especially the wet tyres where it’s going to produce slower laptimes but also provide better control when the car slides.

You can browse through the whole patch notes here, which also covers improvements to the Safety Rating, Competitive servers, and other multiplayer features.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is out now on PC via Steam.
