The scramble for game release dates in February 2025 has seen another scramble as Assassin’s Creed Shadows is delayed out of the month and into March.
The open world action-adventure game by Ubisoft will now launch on March 20.
“While we’ve already made remarkable stride, we believe a few additional weeks are needed to implement that feedback and ensure an even more ambitious and engaging day-one experience,” the statement released on the site may still call Twitter reads.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was first announced to release back in November 2024, but was delayed into February 14, 2025.
But soon after that we learned that the month is packed with big-hitters. Monster Hunter: Rise, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii (which also got its initially revealed release date moved), Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII and Avowed are some of the big, AAA games releases.
As for March, right now it seems sparse. So it’s a wise move to give the developers more time and also dip out for a less crowded release week. Not everyone can buy games full-price every month, let alone every week. Especially not here in this side of the world where one copy of a AAA video game is about the price of 15 Big Mac sets.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be out on March 20 for the PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Mac (Mac App Store) and Xbox Series X|S, with an iPad coming at a later date.
