Gameplay for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows was unveiled to the world during the Ubisoft Forward event, showcasing how out dual protagonist, Yasuke and Naoe, differs in playstyle in their vision of rural Japan.
In the trailer, we see Yasuke, being a samurai, is more heavy combat focus with his Katana or Kanabo being the main tool to take down enemies, while Naoe is more Shinobi Assassin, with her usage of grappling hook that allows for stealthy in-air assassinations and greater mobility, while the kunai and her custom Hidden Blade for swift eliminations that makes most fans of the AC games peak with interest.
It’s a sort of gameplay mix that was last seen in AC: Syndicate, and like it, you can pick between both of them within the open world and handle the objectives however you see fit.
On the technical side, Ubisoft has partnered up with Intel, which means the latest version of Anvil (the game engine for AC) will be optimized for Intel’s performance hybrid core architecture, ensuring the best experience happens on Intel Core 14th Gen processors.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be out on November 15 for the PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Mac (Mac App Store) and Xbox Series X|S, with an iPad coming at a later date.
