Apple Arcade Side-Scrolling Adventure Game Little Orpheus Coming To Consoles And PC

Little Orpheus is the latest game from developers The Chinese Room, which you might remember as the makers of “walking sims” (or as we like to call them, narrative adventures) Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture. It was first released on Apple Arcade back in 2020.

But now it’s coming to consoles and PC.

It’s not a straight port either. Little Orpheus on consoles and PC is “rebuilt and remastered for the big screen”. There are new animations, hi-res textures and other graphical enhancements.

The consoles and PC release will also include the bonus ninth episode and the Lost Recordings mode.

In Little Orpheus, you play as comrade Ivan Ivanovich, a Soviet cosmonaut on board his exploration capsule, the titular Little Orpheus. In his journey into the centre of the earth, he will explore and meet lost civilizations, giant dinosaurs and other fascinations, to the tune of a soundtrack composed by Jessica Curry and Jim Fowler.

The game takes inspiration from movies like Flash Gordon, Sinbad and The Land that Time Forgot.

Little Orpheus will be published by Secret Mode, a new publisher arm under Sumo Digital. Little Orpheus is coming to PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 1.
