All Additional Crusader Kings III Content Now Offered As A Subscription

One of the common complaints for long-running and supported games is that over time, it’s just too expensive to acquire all of the new content released via DLC. See games like The Sims 4, which continues to have various paid DLC, or in this case, Paradox grand strategy games.

Paradox Interactive has now announced that you can access all of Crusader Kings III’s available expansions and content packs through a monthly subscription. You need to first purchase the base game, the subscription is to access all extra paid DLCs.

For the price of $9.99USD/£8.49/€9.99 per month, players get access to:

  • Expansions, adding new major features and dramatically transforming the game experience.
  • Flavor packs, which highlight historic struggles in specific regions.
  • Event packs with colorful new choices for your characters as they make their mark on history.
  • Cosmetic content, including historical clothing styles for some regions and music packs for deeper immersion.
  • Every content pack specifically designed for Crusader Kings III by established community modders and creators.
  • All “instant unlock” content provided to Chapter owners throughout the life of Crusader Kings III.

Paradox says the subscription is for “players who’d prefer to play for a limited time or in a more budget-conscious manner,” and has already implemented the pricing model on their two other grand strategy games, Hearts Of Iron IV and Europa Universalis IV, to great success.

A rough conversion of RM40 a month is still a lot of money to essentially rent the entire, growing DLC catalog of CK III, but if you regularly play the medieval grand strategy game with RPG elements, this may of value to you. Hopefully it’s not too hard to cancel the subscription.
