Alan Wake 2 PC Spec Requirements Sure Is High

With the release of Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s full-on survival horror game, looming, the developers have shared the PC spec requirements to run the highly anticipated game.

And boy, it sure is a demanding game, based on the rather high minimum specs. The game expects you to run a Geforce RTX 2060 (or the AMD equivalent, Radeon RX 6600) at the minimum. Oof.

At least the game supports Nvidia DLSS 3.5 and AMD FSR 2 at launch so there are upscaling solutions to make it look slightly better or run smoother.

Here’s the full PC requirements for Alan Wake 2:

Looks like Alan Wake 2 is one graphically demanding game. Other aspects of the specs are mostly consistent, it’s the GPU requirements that keep going up as you bump the game to higher resolutions and higher graphical settings.

While it’s a noticeable trend that PC games starting this year have started to demand higher specs now that the current ninth generation of consoles have matured (more and more games are designed to be installed on an SSD in mind), it also goes against the trend where portable PC gaming devices like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally are getting popular. These devices would struggle to be Deck Verified and run on portables.

In any case, if you have the latest and greatest hardware, Alan Wake 2 seems to be a good game to really push that purchase to its limits.

Alan Wake 2 releases on October 27 for the PS5, PC (Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
