Acer Nitro 7 2020 Refresh Comes With 10th-Gen Intel Core And Nvidia RTX 2060

Acer didn’t really show any of the Nitro series on this year’s next@Acer stream, but they did announce one new model. It’s a refresh to the Acer Nitro 7.

While the Nitro series served as the affordable gaming lineup in contrast to the Predator brand with a clear line where the specs for each brand sits at. That line is getting blurrier for 2020.

The 2020 Acer Nitro 7 will still have relatively thin metal chassis (19.9mm) but it can now sport an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. Last year’s model, which we review, was limited to Nvidia’s highest GTX offering. Now you can get RTX ray-tracing in your games with the top-end variant of the Nitro 7.

In addition, it’s also getting the expected CPU upgrade. The 2020 Nitro 7 will sport 10th-gen Intel Core CPUs. And it will have Killer Ethernet E2600 and Intel Wi-Fi 6, which is new for this year.

The new Nitro 7 will sport dual fans and a quad exhaust port. We shall see if this will address last year’s model thermal issues, which we pointed out in our review.

The 2020 Acer Nitro 7 will arrive in North America in October priced at $999.99 USD (around RM4,294.26). Expect this to arrive in Malaysia later this year, and we’ll let you know when it does.
