You would expect a game announcement to be made full of hype to get people talking about it, but Square Enix is doing something different. The Tomb Raider’s Twitter page just posted an image of just plain text, confirming that a new Tomb Raider will be coming next year.

No name, no key image. Just a confirmation that the game is almost ready when it will be properly revealed.
Bethesda has been doing great with keeping their game announcements close to release date, which helps keep the hype going well into release. So it’s good to see more companies do something similar. But announcing it unceremoniously like this seems a bit off. Hopefully the proper reveal will be something special.
Crystal Dynamics rebooted the Tomb Raider series for the second time in 2013. The sequel, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, was an Xbox One console timed exclusive, PS4 players have to wait a year before getting their hands on it. Rumours suggest that this could be titled Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, the odd sentences used all starts with letters spelling “Shadow” as spotted by Liam Robertson, but we will wait and see for now.
