Golf sounds like a rather chill sport, but what if there’s a game that makes even more chilled and relaxing?
Okidokico, the makers of OK Golf, is making a new game titled A Little Golf Journey, to be published by Playtonic Friends. It looks like OK Golf- where you have a beautiful and block aesthetic with just the ball flying around. But with A Little Golf Journey, the devs take the many good feedback of how calming OK Golf was, and doubling down on that.
“We really thought we could take that side of it further and that’s where the core ideas for A Little Golf Journey came from,” said Charlie Goatly, Co-Founder at Okidokico.
“We’ve removed all those stressful elements of a traditional round of golf and replaced them with beautiful imagery, a soothing soundtrack and a narrative adventure layer for those who want to seek it out.”
While not mentioned specifically, A Little Golf Journey isn’t the golf game that’s counting how many strokes you’ve done before the ball sinks in a hole kind of game. There’s secrets to discover.
When you think of golf games outside of the simulation-focused ones, you usually get a faster, arcadier experience to make it all exciting and fun. So it’s interesting to see a game that goes the other direction.
We’ll have to see how much calming and soothing A Little Golf Journey is compared to a regular game of golf when it launches on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch later this summer.
