More Than 25 First-Party PS5 Games Currently In Development

A new interview by Wired has revealed that PlayStation fans can expect more games coming to the PS5, especially from the first-party side.

PlayStation Studios’ Hermen Hulst revealed to Wired that currently, there are more than 25 PS5 games in development under the first-party banner. Nearly half of that are new IP- completely new games.

“There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions, Hulst said. “Big, small, different genres.”

The interview piece also confirms that Horizon: Forbidden West is still set for release later this year. The sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn will be a cross-gen release, coming to the PS4 and PS5.

The next-gen exclusives are starting to trickle in for 2021. Destruction AllStars, Returnal and the upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart should keep those lucky enough to get a PS5 busy for the year. And expect more to come down the line, the next generation is just getting started.
