ROG’s 2022 slate of new gaming laptops powered by AMD has now arrived in Malaysia beginning today. This includes the ROG Zephyrus line, which for 2022 are powered by AMD Ryzen 6000 Series CPUs.
The Zephyrus line is the thin-yet-powerful offering from Asus’ gaming brand, perfect for gamers and content creators that prefers such a form factor.
The 2022 refresh for the Zephyrus G14 and G15 are packed with the latest AMD and Nvidia mobile GPUs (starting with the AMD Radeon RX 6700S for the G14 and the Nvidia RTX 3060 for the G15).
Both laptops, as with all Asus gaming laptops for 2022, feature a MUX Switch, a physical switch to disable the integrated graphics chip and push the graphics card performance to its max. Both laptops also supports Type-C charging.
The name denotes the screen size- G14 has a 14-inch panel whereas the G15 uses the traditional 15.6-inch.
The 2022 Zephyrus G14 features a slight update to its chassis and appearance. There is more precision CNC milled holes (14,969 holes precisely) and 1,449 mini LEDs for its proprietary AniMe Matrix display. More holes and more LEDs mean more customisation options on the exterior of the laptop.
The Zephyrus G14 screen also has its own branding: the Nebula display. This is a 1440p (QHD)16:10 120Hz screen with 500 nits brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, 3ms response time, Adaptive Sync, Dolby Vision and Pantone validation.
The 2022 Zephyrus G15 is a bit less flashy on the other hand. It does not have the AniMe Matrix display, but it has a higher refresh rate screen (with up to 240Hz), a more subdued design (tiny holes -dot matrix design- with some smattering of prismatic RGB light makes up its back design.
Both the Zephyrus G14 and G15 are being offered in two different variants in Malaysia. The specs are as follows:
