2K has announced this year’s WWE 2K game, WWE 2K24 and its release date. Revealed on WWE’s Monday Night Raw, WWE 2K24 will feature Cody Rhodes on the Standard Edition cover and the pair of Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley on the Deluxe Edition.
For WWE 2K24, this year’s game is themed around the celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania, the wrestling equivalent of battle royale where the last person standing wins. WWE 2K24 Showcase…of the Immortals will be a game mode where you recreate some of the memorable WrestleMania moments, which will incorporate live-action footage that then morphs seamlessly into gameplay.
Four new match types (Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, Casket Match, and Gauntlet Match), two new MyRISE experiences will be added as well a roster made up of more than 200 WWE Superstars past and present.
MyGM modes gets expanded with new GMs and brands, new Dramas and Championships, as well as the addition of talent scouts and Superstar trading.
The Creation Suite, what 2K dubs as “the crown of the WWE 2K franchise”, the tools that enable some of the most wackiest content made by creators, is also back with support fo Create-A-Referee and Create-A-Sign. The latter should really get a lot of mileage. New parts and animations has also been added to the Creation Suite.
This is 2K’s second announcement of its annual sports game linuep of 2024, the first was a surprise tease on the return of TopSpin, the tennis game.
WWE 2K24 releases on March 8 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
