Team Ninja sure is busy. Right off the heels of launching Nioh 3 earlier this year, publisher Koei Tecmo announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 of a sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
Titled Wo Long 2: Wings Of Ember, the sequel to the fast-paced soulslike action-RPG where you parry all the time is set in the late Eastern Han period where “a phoenix rises from the fires of war as a nameless champion fights across vast battlefields faced with powerful enemies and fearsome fiends.”
That’s the player character, the nameless champion. And there is a new phoenix motif going on with our presumably player-created character, hence the subtitle.
Expect more burnt out and desolate battlefields, of course. But the little snippet of gameplay shows how the parry/deflect has now evolved. Air parries? Stellar Blade-style dodges that positions you to the enemy’s backside for a good chunky hit? That should be enough of a teaser for now.
Wo Long 2: Wings Of Ember will be out in early 2027 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
