With Over 1 Million Players, Atomfall Is Rebellion’s Most Successful Game Launch

Atomfall, the new open world first person game by Rebellion, is out now. Over 1.5 million players have played the game, the publisher and developer announced.

The game had 1 million players on the weekend of of its launch, making it the most successful launch in Rebellion’s 32-year history.

Note the denotation of “players” instead of “copies sold”. Atomfall launched day-1 on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, which may have positively influence the high player count.

“We are delighted that so many players are enjoying Atomfall,” said Jason Kingsley, CEO and co-founder of Rebellion. “To have surpassed the one million players in such a short space of time speaks volumes for the creativity and dedication of the entire team here at Rebellion. Our size and stability mean that we can take risks to create something as different as Atomfall. Happily, that risk is paying off.”

Atomfall is set in a post-apocalypse world set in the north of England. It’s a new IP for the developers most famous for the Sniper Elite and Zombie Army series.

Rebellion also revealed the following stats players accumulated from playing Atomfall:

  • 3.7 million kills with a cricket bat
  • Over 4 million pasties consumed
  • Over 300,000 cups of tea consumed

Atomfall is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
