Another month, another pair of free games for active PS Plus subscribers. But this month Asia is getting a relatively worse deal.
Wipeout Omega Collection headlines the pair of free games for August 2019. This is a remaster of Wipeout HD and Wipeout 2048, which also has added a PS VR mode. It’s a slick anti-gravity racing game that is more novel these days than its heyday. We loved it in our review.
Also, there’s a Malaysian team called Harimau and arguably one of the better ships in Wipeout HD. Call us biased but that’s rad.
The other game is Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus, a 2D platformer first released back in 2015. Asia is getting this instead of Sniper Elite 4- which publishers Rebellion has yet to publish on PS Store Asia.
It rubs a lot of people in the wrong way, just look at the comments down on the announcement video on YouTube. Especially since PS Plus just got a price hike recently. That said, maybe Sony should consider a monthly subscription of games ala Xbox Game Pass. Or PS Now but without the streaming. Because gamers here in this region are really passionate about what PS Plus free games they are getting.
Anyway, both games are now available to claim for PS Plus subscribers.
