The sequel to the “coolest sport of all time” and cult-favourite competitive disc throwing game Windjammers is having an open beta.
The open beta, which begins on August 11 and ends on August 22 is currently available on PC, PS4 and PS5.
The open beta on PS4 and PS5 does not include Asia region, however.
Publisher and developer DotEmu also announced that Windjammers 2 is coming to PS4 and PS5, alongside the PC, Switch and Stadia release.
The open beta offers four characters to play (Steve Miller, Biaggi, Sophie de Lys and Gary Scott), each with their own stats and advantages. The open beta allows online ranked play, which will pit PS4 and PS5 players in one shared pool of players separated from PC. No cross-play, unfortunately, but cross-gen cross-play between PS4 and PS5 is supported.
Windjammers 2 follows up the arcade game with hand-drawn 2D animations, new characters, and more 80’s flair than ever. There’s no firm release date, or a release window for Windjammers 2 as of now.
