Where Winds Meet Version 1.2 Update To Bring Final Volume Of Kaifeng Story

Where Winds Meet is getting a content update on January 9 with Update 1.2. The update will bring the Final Volume of Kaifeng, ending the storyline set in the free-to-play open world wuxia action-RPG set in the walled city, and second available region so far.

The update will also add the Nine Mortal Ways Camp, home of the sect of scammers bringing mischief and fake red packets just for the love of the game, a new puzzle cave in the form of Mistveil Prison.

A new Campaign boss, Supreme Freedom, will be added. This is described to be ” a journey through escalating clashes that force players to confront profound choices between personal belief, duty, and the inexorable pull of fate.” Expect the second story chapter to end on a presumed banger of a note.

Outside of solo content, Where Winds Meet Version 1.2 will be adding Guild Battles, large multiplayer battles based on guilds. A preseason tournament will be conducted during this month.

For those seeking less stressful and no-commitment content, the limited-time event Jianghu Martial Games will be available starting January 9.

The silly event includes a mode called “Elder Express” where you give piggyback rides for senior citizens. Where Winds Meet can be goofy like that.

Speaking of goofy, Where Winds Meet actually celebrated the new year with a takeover event that spans not only on their socials, but around the world in real locations. Apparently, billboards across Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and even here in Kuala Lumpur has featured the Goose Overlord.

In Taipei City, the Giant Goose is set loose (well, on a static display, but it’s out there in the real world). The goose gain popularity as players spread its infamy through socials—it’s genuinely one of the most punishing bosses you can encounter in the wild open world, one-shotting you. And it’s a goose. But really, geese are fearsome creatures as some folks would use them as a replacement for watchdogs.

Where Winds Meet Version 1.2 update will go live on January 9. Where Winds Meet is now available on PS5, PC (Steam, standalone launcher), iOS and Android with cross-play and cross-save on all platforms. Check out our review of the game here.
