Weird West Getting Native PS5, Xbox Series Release With 4K 60 fps Support

Weird West, the top-down action-RPG and definitely an immersive sim by WolfEye Studio is getting a Definite Edition version, aimed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Weird West Definitive Edition will support 4K resolution and 60 fps frame rates on PS5 and Xbox Series X (Xbox Series S is likely to cap at 1440p as that console variant isn’t for 4K gaming), as well as on PC.

Publisher Devolver will announce more details next week, but from the list of new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, it looks like Weird West Definitive Edition will be out on May 8.

The timing of the announcement is rather interesting, as the announcement was made a day after Arkane Austin released their latest game, Redfall. WolfEye Studio has a few veterans that previously worked on that specific studio, including Arkane Studios co-founder Raphael Colantonio.

The last update for Weird West introduced a new control scheme that makes it play less like a twin-stick shooter.

If you’re itching for an immersive sim with systems that rewards your ingenuity for thinking outside the box (or by stacking boxes to climb over something), Weird West is available now on PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One. The game is also on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
