Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Is Getting A Sequel

Third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is finally getting a sequel. Revealed at The Game Awards, it looks like developer Saber Interactive will carry on the work created by RTS specialist Relic with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines II, with Focus Home Interactive as the publisher.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II will still feature the blue-cladded Ultramarines chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, also known as the Space Marines. Captain Titus, the protagonist of the original Space Marine is back, now played by actor Clive Standen. And instead of the Orks, you will be facing the Tyrannid hordes this time around.

The trailer paints a picture of how these super-human soldiers engineered for war is capable of wiping out the scarily huge horde of xenos, as the normal humans of the Imperial Guard look in awe. It makes the Space Marines look cool- and they are indeed in-universe, just don’t think of these religious zealots as cool outside of the grim dark future that is the setting of Warhammer 40,000, as Games Workshop recently remind us.

Saber Interactive has worked on various games, from driving games to sports. But their main bread and butter, shooters, should be something Warhammer fans, and fans of the original Space Marine, will be excited for. Imagine the massive zombie horde tech from World War Z, but used for the Tyrranids.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be a next-gen only title, coming to PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
