Developer Digital Extremes revealed what to expect from the next big content update for Warframe to follow Warframe 1999, coming this March.
The Techrot Encore update (previously referred as Echoes of 1999) will add the Technocyte Coda, a new set of enemies as part of the game’s Adversary System. This features was supposed to launch with Warframe 1999 but was delayed and will be included in the Techrot Encore update.

The Technocyte Coda is the Infested-themed Adversaries following the Kuva Lich (Grineer) and Sisters Of Pravos (Corpus).
While the Technocyte Coda is essentially another Adversary System, it also has a bunch of little tweaks and changes that separates them from the previous two, other than adversaries are Infested copies of an-in world boy band. Talk about a viral sensation.
The devstream highlights a few key changes which includes:
- New Parazon mods unique to combat Technocyte Coda, themed around anti-viruses. Drops from Hollvania tileset. Does not use Requiem Mods.
- Unique way of “acquiring” an adversary
- Duet boss fights
The Techrot Encore update will also be adding the 60th Warframe, Temple, themed around guitars.
Interestingly, there will be four more Protoframes introduced in the update. These are what the Warframes with human faces, six of which introduced in Warframe 1999. They will appear as characters as well as Gemini skins that can be equipped on the corresponding Warframe.
Even more interesting, game director Rebecca Ford accidentally let it slip in a more recent livestream that one of the Protoframes will be the Temple, just how the new Warframe for 1999, Cyte-09, also includes a Protoframe and Gemini skin.
It’s not a big surprise for the community that expected this pattern, but it’s fun seeing devs accidentally leak info of their own game live on stream- not the first blunder of its kind to have happen.
