Unreal Engine 5.1 Update Now Live

Epic Games has released an update for Unreal Engine 5. Unreal Engine 5.1 adds various improvements for game developers to work more efficiently, but also improves the workflow for creators using the game engine for virtual production.

Lumen, Nanite and Virtual Shadow Maps, tools used in game dev, have been improved. The World Partition now allows for bigger worlds and makes it easier for multiple people to collaborate and work on making them.

You can find the full patch notes here.

Improvements in Unreal Engine 5 won’t be impacting gamers directly (no need to download anything), but it should improve the way game developers and content creators deliver their products better and more efficiently.

But if you are curious and want to tinker with a game engine, or an aspiring developer, the Unreal Engine 5 tool, now at Unreal Engine 5.1, is available to download here, straight from the Epic Games Store. Using the tool is free for personal projects.
