Ubisoft has made an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 by debuting the first trailer for Massive Entertainment’s upcoming Star Wars game.
Titled Star Wars Outlaws, this will be the first Star Wars open-world game, and action-adventure experience set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. So, firmly in the original movie trilogy’s timeline.
In Star Wars Outlaws, you play as cunning scoundrel Kay Vess and her companion Nix as they attempt the greatest heist in the Outer Rim. Expect to do crimes and interact with the galaxy’s crime syndicates in this action-adventure title.
If the Star Wars Jedi series brings the fantasy of being a lightsaber-wielding Force user in the darkest of times, Star Wars Outlaws is shining the spotlight on what the seedy underbelly of the galaxy is cooking up while the Rebels are making moves to put down the Galactic Empire.
The first trailer here sets a good tone of what to expect. There’s no gameplay though we will see that in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward show.
This isn’t the only Massive game to be showcased at Ubisoft Forward, or the only Massive game based on an existing IP as a matter of fact. Expect to see the previously announced Avatar game (the James Cameron one not the Nickelodeon animated series) as well as more of Star Wars Outlaws at the show.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released in 2024.
