With Hitman 2 coming out later this November, IO Interactive is giving everyone a chance to try out Hitman 2016 again for free. In several occasions, the developers have given the first map Paris and the second (and arguably the best) map Sapienza for free, and now the next in the line is the third, Marrakesh.
As a map, it’s the most dense so far. It features a very lively market area, a Swedish consulate with protesters swarming the front and an abandoned school complex now filled with military forces. The main story mission, A Gilded Cage, will have you as Agent 47 murdering an army general and a banker taking refuge in the consulate.
The Summer Pack as it’s called will give access to all the content related to the Marrakesh map bar the bonus episode and the Patient Zero campaign. It still has some replayability which includes:
- ‘The Gilded Gage’ story mission
- 8 Escalation Contracts
- 20 levels of Marrakesh Mastery (including 6 gear/weapon unlocks)
- 90+ Challenges
- 7 achievements / Trophies
- Future Re-activated Elusive Targets in Marrakesh
The Intro tutorials is also included for free.
The Summer Pack is available on PS4, PC and Xbox One but with some caveats. For one, it’s not available on PS Store Asia for PS4. Two, if you partially owned some Hitman 2016 episodes, the Summer Pack on Steam might not appear, so based on this Steam post, you can add it in via SteamDB. Thirdly, it seems it is only a limited-time-only affair, as you don’t keep the map forever. IO has not specified this at all in their announcement post. Rather, the limited-timeness was emphasised:
“Game access lasts for the Summer Pack period, but your saved progress will transfer to the full game when purchased”
Still, if you’re curious, go have a gander.
