During the Xbox @ Gamescom broadcast, Square Enix shadowdropped the release of Triangle Strategy on Xbox, “Xbox On PC” (Microsoft Store) and PS5.
Triangle Strategy first launched back in 2022 on the Nintendo Switch (where Nintendo directly published it) and PC. This is a tactical RPG from Team Asano, the developers behind the Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default series featuring the signature 2D-HD art style.
It took some time before this game arrived on multiple platforms. Square Enix even released a version on Triangle Strategy on the Meta Quest VR headset first before the eventual PlayStation and Xbox versions arrive.
On Xbox, Triangle Strategy supports Xbox Play Anywhere. So that same purchase of the game on the Microsoft Store can be played on PC (via the Xbox App) and Xbox Series X|S.
Outside of support for higher framerates and 4K resolution, this is pretty much the same Triangle Strategy game Switch and PC players on Steam has been playing for a while. But hey, better late than never.
Triangle Strategy is out now on PS5, PC (Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S, and is currently 30% off until September 3. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam) and Meta Quest.
In other news, the same Xbox @ Gamescom broadcast also saw Ubisoft pulling a shadowdrop, surprise releasing the 1.0 version of The Rogue Prince Of Persia.
