Transformers: Reactivate Cancelled

It’s been a while since we heard any news of Transformers: Reactivate, the multiplayer shooter developed by Splash Damage. But now we have news, a bad one.

On the site most still call Twitter, Splash Damage announced that Transformers: Reactivate has ceased development and the release is cancelled.

Even worse, the studio is “scaling down to refocus our efforts on other projects” which will result in the studio having to lay off employees.

“While not being able to see the game through ot release is painful, having to say goodbye to friends and colleagues hurts even more,” the statement reads. “We’re now focused on doing everything we can to support them through this tough period, just as we are committed to caring for those who will stay with us as we build a stronger Splash Damage for the future.”

While we will never see the full game, Hasbro, owner of the Transformers IP, did release a line of action figures based on the character designs for this cancelled game.

Announced back at The Game Awards 2022, Transformers: Reactive was supposed to be the next game from Splash Damage, their next big project after Gears Tactics.
