Top-Down Racing Game Circuit Superstars Out Now On PC and Xbox, Adds The Top Gear Test Track

Here’s a surprise release we didn’t expect to see today. Circuit Superstars, the top-down motorsport racer by Original Fire Games and published by Square Enix Collective, leaves Steam Early Access today.

It’s also out now on Xbox One.

Circuit Superstars looks like a top-down racer with chibi cars in the vein of Micro Machines, but don’t let its cute looks deceive you. The physics have simulation vibes and pit stops to change tyres and refuelling is part of the racing here.

Tyre and fuel management, in a top-down arcade-ish racer. A combo you don’t see every day.

The game features various motorsport disciplines, from rallying to the olden days of open-wheel racing. All of them are fictitious representations, but there is one licensed circuit: The Top Gear Test Track.

The popular figure-of-eight track around an airport as depicted in BBC’s hit car show is available in Circuit Superstars. To promote the release, Square Enix Collective even did a 10-part series of “Star In A Reasonably Fast Car”, featuring 10 diverse drivers and racing games content creators from various motorsport disciplines hot lapping the track.

Circuit Superstars is out now on PC (Steam) and Xbox One, and is still coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
