THQ Nordic has announced the games they will be showing off at the upcoming Gamescom trade show. Six games will be shown alongside two brand new games, one being an entirely new IP.
The new IP will be an open world RPG and described to be ” a post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable”. Post-apocalypse is nothing new, but throw in kung-fu and this might be something interesting.
The other new game will be a new game from “a well-known, mysterious and horrific IP”. What could it be? The last IP from the now-defunct THQ that is horror themed was the cancelled project InSane, which had film director Guillermo del Toro in the director seat. Del Toro retained the IP after the cancellation.
What is more likely is that this horror IP is part of Nordic before they bought most of THQ’s titles. One possible guest would be a new Painkiller.
Wild speculations aside, the six games THQ Nordic will be shown at Gamescom are the open world RPG ELEX, the JRPG-esque Battle Chasers: Nightwars, SpellForce 3, Aquanox: Deep Descent, The Guild 3, and Bugbear’s long in development racing game Wreckfest.
