The Sims 4 has released a free update on PC and consoles to coincide the release of the Eco Lifestyle expansion.
The biggest addition is arguably ladders. Ladders were available in the Island Living expansion before, but only for water lots. Now it’s integrated to the base game for everyone and can be used on all lots. It’s like stairs, but with less space used.
The other interesting addition is branded content. There are now 12 new makeups in collaboration with M·A·C Cosmetics.
Besides that, firefighters, a traditional NPC from past The Sims games before, has now been added to The Sims 4. They function like you remember- they come automatically if there’s a fire alarm, or call them from the phone. The Repo Man is also added to the base game following their inclusion in the Discover University expansion.
Lastly, the Inventory for individual Sims gets a rework, Doors and windows can be placed off-the-grid, better billing with breakdown on how much money is spent on what aspect (water, power, fees), and more features to make off-the-grid living (running electricity and water utilities) a viable playstyle.
