The New Acer Swift Go 16 AI Is Now Available In Malaysia, And You Can Game On It Thanks To Intel’s New Chips

Acer announced today the availability of the Acer Swift Go 16 AI laptop in Malaysia.

Usually we don’t cover consumer laptops on Gamer Matters but this one comes with a dedicated graphics chip and has its gaming performance being touted.

The Acer Swift Go 16 AI is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs (Panther Lake) which just launched last year and paired with Intel Arc integrated graphics. That’s Intel Arc B390, to be more specific, part of the latest Battlemage architecture (“B-Series”) of Intel Arc graphics. The one sole variant launching in Malaysia at the time of writing is specced out with 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of storage, which is quite the flex given how expensive RAM and solid state drives are currently, ironically induced by current AI hype, something you can observe by its initial name and other features this laptop has.

The Swift Go 16 AI is packing all this while still maintaining the laptop line’s core feature: light and slim physique. The Swift Go 16 AI is just 10.4mm thin at it’s most thickest and 1.36kg light. Light enough that dancers can perform choreographed performance while holding it with the lid opened, as we saw at the launch event for local media and creators we attended.

Acer claims that the Swift Go 16 AI is able to run Valorant, and we see firsthand during the launch event that the game can run Asphalt Legends Unite capable of at least running at Medium at 1200p at 120fps. So enough power to run lightweight esports and mobile-derived titles. Though how far can you actually push its gaming performance remains to be seen. The Intel Arc Battlemage cards are more positioned for entry-to-medium range gaming, and you just have to hope Intel’s effort in making the new chips efficient (i.e. using less power draw and hence, less heat) is enough to keep the slim laptop cool under high loads. There’s not much ventilation otherwise.

But if light gaming and some video editing, are your go-to use cases for a laptop and willing to sacrifice performance just to have the slim form factor, the Acer Swift Go 16 AI has you covered. The 1800p (3K) OLED display with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut should be good for productivity and entertainment use. And its hinge can go up to 180 degrees, you can splay the laptop flat if needed.
