FromSoftware continues to be busy, as they just announced a new game based on a new IP at the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
The Duskbloods is a new game by the esteemed developers behind Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Bloodborne. And you’re not the only one thinking this looks like Bloodborne, The Duskbloods has that Gothic aesthetic the permeate the 2015 classic, but it’s no Bloodborne 2.
The Duskbloods has some range of aesthetic choices here, from the aforementioned Gothic getups of vampires, to steampunk-esque armour with jetpacks. And from demure Asian stylings to the ability to transform into some dinosaur-esque creature.
Little is known about The Duskbloods so far, other than it’s coming in 2026 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. It’s also described as a multiplayer game, though whether this will be in the veins of Elden Ring Nightreign remains to be seen.
(In other news, Elden Ring is also coming to the Switch 2, but the upcoming standalone multiplayer game Elden Ring Nightreign was not mentioned in the Direct.)
The fact that this isn’t the showstopper, “one more thing” announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 lineup is a major flex of how a strong lineup the console maker’s next console has. And they sure are flexing, Nintendo getting a FromSoft exclusive title should grab the attention of the core gamers that don’t game on the platform and start taking this 4K60FPS portable console seriously.
