Ubisoft’s looter-shooter The Division 2 was supposed to get new content later this year. However, a new post by the publisher has announced that the update, which will include a new game mode, is delayed to February 2022.
The Division 2 originally has no plans for more new content, but the explosion of player base count last year has seen a new team inside Ubisoft to continue development. The original devs Ubisoft Massive are working on that new Avatar (the James Cameron one) game.
The good news is, more info on what this new update, said to be “one of our most ambitious to date”, will start to drop in the coming months.
The Division 2 is currently at Season 7- another season rerun. At the end of Season 7 this December, there will be an in-game event that brings new rewards, the return of “player-favourite global events”, and a new apparel event.
The Division 2 may not be getting new content in the meantime, but the state of the game in early this year is pretty good. If you like cover shooters in a plausible post-pandemic scenario where the damage numbers and gear score numbers go up, you’re in for a good time, even playing solo.
