The Crew Motorfest Season 8 Is A Cheeky Nod To Past Street Racing Games

The Crew Motorfest will be getting another year of content, with three more seasons planned and a lot of new content and features coming. We’re now entering Year 3.

As outlined in The Crew Showcased livestream, the next season of The Crew Motorfest is a celebration of street racing culture, with two new Playlists, a new race type and improvements to car customisation.

The Crew Motorfest Season 8 New Playlist: Street Riders

The first new Playlist in The Crew Motorfest Season 8 is Street Riders. Weasel, first seen in the Donk VS Lowrider Playlist, is here to introduce players to the Monkey’s Kitchen, a new crew that don’t abide to chirpy, seemingly corporate clean image of the Motorfest.

You can place bets before each race, Monkey’s Bet. Raise the stakes or refuse the gamble.

There is now Free Race: no set paths, just reach the flares the fastest by any way possible. Close enough, welcome back, Midnight Club (and Midtown Madness).

Rather cheekily, the hero car for this playlist is a BMW M3 E46. Yeah, that car from that game from 20 years ago. In this particular article by publisher Ubisoft, it says that the car “usually pre-made for players, will be fully customisable.”

That’s fighting words in reference to Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005) featuring a non-customisable BMW M3 GTR as its hero car. Though technically the non-GTR BMW M3 E46 can be customised in various NFS games it appeared in.

In the Deep Dive trailer, you can see the amount of customisation options you have, including parts that can make it look like the GTR spec the Most Wanted games.

With Season 8, The Crew Motorfest also adds official, branded wheels and the ability to adjust tyre camber and stance.

The Street Riders Playlist is supposed to be a love letter to the more underground side of car culture, but it also inadvertently works as a cheeky nod to past street racing games.

We won’t be ever getting a new Midnight Club now that Rockstar Games can do that within a GTA and Need For Speed is on ice as current caretaker Criterion is part of the Battlefield Studios assemble. It’s nice to see a little bit of them within a still ongoing racing game.

The Crew Motorfest Season 8 New Playlist: BMW (Arriving January 2026)

The second new Playlist coming to Season 8 is not a surprise, one centered around BMW. This will arrive much later in January 7, 2026 rather than at the start of Season 8. Marc Thiesbürger from BMW Group Classic will be guiding players in this playlist as they discover the Bavarian brand’s story and sweet rides throughout history. Expect to see more BMW cars, and at least one motorcycle, coming to the game thanks to this partnership.

The Crew Motorfest Friend Pass: Bring Friends To Play For Free

One new fascinating feature dropping in Season 8 of The Crew Motorfest is the Friend Pass. With this, any player who owns the game can invite three other players to play, as a trial version.

However, like any Friend Pass, there are no time limits and friends playing this way can essentially play the whole game for free.

Finally, The Crew Motorfest will be officially Steam Deck verified.

Season 8 of The Crew Motorfest begins on November 5.

The Crew Showcase also teases what’s coming to Season 9 which involves a full-on track creator (something you’d see out of Forza Horizon 5), RC cars and a NASCAR collab.

The Crew Motorfest is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
