The Acer Nitro 5 Seems Like A Great Entry-Level Gaming Laptop, Now In Malaysia
Most gaming laptops are expensive, but as of late more and more manufacturers are producing budget gaming laptops. Most of these are within the RM4,000-RM5,000 range, though some offer more entry-level specs for a cheaper price. Acer is doing just that with the Acer Nitro 5.
The Nitro 5 will have two different configurations to cater to two different audience- the entry-level configuration starts at RM3,299 while the higher-end version is what you expect for a budget gaming laptop priced at RM4,699.
Here is the specs for the both configurations:
- Intel Core i5-7300HQ
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2GB
- 4GB DDR4 RAM
- 1 TB HDD
- Intel Core i7-7700HQ
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB
- 4GB DDR4 RAM
- 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD
Acer also put two fans for the Acer Nitro 5. The two fans, alongside Acer’s Coolboost technology that lets you control the fan speeds as well as the ability to run faster hence keeping the laptop at manageable temperature.
The one disappointing thing here is both configs only have 4GB of RAM. It’s now a popular choice for most laptop models in Malaysia given RAM is easily upgradable, but new games are slowly increasing their minimum specs and that includes more demand for RAM. So that’s one thing to keep in mind.
All that aside, the Acer Nitro 5 should be great for entry-level gaming. Less recent AAA games and esports titles should run like butter on both configs on paper. The higher-end model should sit on par with the Aspire VX launched early this year, but with a better screen and an SSD. So if you’re on a tight budget, give the Acer Nitro 5 a look, now available in stores nationwide.
