Summer Game Fest Announced, A Four-Month Digital Festival Of News, In-Game Events And Demos

With E3 not happening in 2020, there’s a new digital event taking its place. Summer Game Fest is bringing everything video games throughout the summer season- the whole four months from May to August.

Several publishers and partners have been confirmed to be participating in the Summer Game Fest. They are:

  • 2K
  • Activision
  • Bandai Namco
  • Bethesda
  • Blizzard
  • Bungie
  • CD Projekt Red
  • Digital Extremes
  • EA
  • Microsoft
  • Private Division
  • Riot Games
  • Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Steam
  • Square Enix
  • Warner Bros.

The publishers will all have specific details on their events, to be announced in the coming weeks.

Geoff Keighly is the curator of the Summer Game Fest and will host pre and post shows for the various publisher and partner events. The Summer Game Fest will end with Opening Night Live- the opening event of last year’s gamescom– on August 24th, which Keighly will again be hosting.

Steam, Xbox, and other platforms will also be offering limited-time demos as well. One of the confirmed events is the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition, which will run on June 9th-14th.
